This is a relight of the Abandoned Manor scene by Scans Factory utilizing nanite and lumen workflows.

You can see the original scene on their Artstation at the following link:

This relight was my final project for The Art of Lighting for Games course at CGMA. You can find a link to the course below:

My instructor for this course was Andrew Prince who is a very talented lighting artist! You can find a link to his Artstation below:

For this project I really wanted to get out of my comfort zone compositionally. I even tried to utilize the golden ratio at one point but it ended up being one of my least favorite shots.

I typically like to light things that are a bit more moody so lighting a day scene was a new experience to me. I found there was no shortage of things to do or adjustments to make even when a lot of your lighting comes from your sun, fog and volumetrics.

I used Ultra Dynamic Sky and Weather to get started. You can find a link to this asset below:

I deleted all of the lighting, post, shadow casters, etc. and did a bit of level art for a lot of the areas in my camera shots. Some things were edited to increase performance as well.

I used reference images from The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power TV series for my lighting/color grading template.

Color grading and LUT creation was done via photoshop and then applied to the post processing volume in UDS.

All shots are high resolution screen shots from in-game and were not edited in photoshop or any other software.

I may come back to update this scene at a later date but for now I am pretty happy with the result.
